18 Holes – 6724 metres – Par 71
Designed by Dave Thomas
The Hacienda del Alamo (HDA) championship 18 hole golf course, designed by Dave Thomas, is one of the longest course in Spain at 6,724 metres and tipped to host a major tournament in the future.
Miguel Angel Jimenez announced the resort as “the new number one in Spain” after shooting a course record of 67.
Hacienda del Álamo is set in the heart of the rich Murcian countryside, close to the ancient village of Fuente Álamo.
This luxury golf resort is tipped to be one of the finest in Spain, and work is underway for the resort’s second 18 hole golf course. The first Hacienda del Álamo golf course is masterly, thanks to the painstaking work of Dave Thomas, who had all the land he could want to design it (no less than 92 hectares). For this reason, the first golf course is one of the best in Europe. Its 7,400 yards includes no fewer than eight lakes and 84 bunkers, it takes up to five hours to play, and there are tee-offs every ten minutes, even on very busy days. You can enjoy the course calmly, without hurrying. Not only is it wide and spacious with many lakes, but it is also very soft because it is built on natural terrain. At the same time, it has some very well-planned obstacles.
Spread over 574 hectares, Hacienda del Álamo is surrounded by groves of mature orange, lemon, olive and almond trees. The resort is just 25 minutes from the centre of Murcia and 30 minutes from San Javier airport and the beautiful beaches of the Mar Menor.
